about
My first attempt at a Country tune. There are a couple more in the works i'll be releasing under "Travis James Gang." The title and idea have been floating around for years and I finally nailed it down. I recorded this at Nasty Cactus Studio with the help of my good friends in the MFB Band (Chris Baker, Tim McKellar, and Dave Ferris).
lyrics
There was a woman I knew and loved, The way you love yourself
But there was a burning down in her soul, Like the fires from hell
(And we were like) Trailer Parks, and Tornadoes
We went together like Rotten and Tomatoes
It’s such a mess, I must confess
I let that woman go
She was a fighter she would act the fool,
But knock ‘em down like a champ
Always hangin’ on some other dude, actin’ like a tramp
(And we were like) Trailer Parks, and Tornadoes
We went together like getting drunk and Drano
It’s such a mess, I must confess
I let that woman go
(Solo)
(Talking) Well, now she was crazy but mechanically inclined
And she could sure torque my wrench,
And I always find, when I’m in a bind, She’ll come round again
(And we were like) Trailer Parks, and Tornadoes
We went together like drowning and Barbados
We were such a mess, But I must confess
I took that woman back (Talking: “yup, I sure did…I took her back”…”Here she is right here…hey baby”)
(and you know) Now things have changed down in her soul
She turned it all around
And we are happy and growing old, But she’s still raising hell
(We’re no longer like) Trailer Parks, and Tornadoes
Now we go together like Meat and potatoes
We were such a mess, but I must confess
I love that woman so
(Solo)
(We’re no longer like) Trailer Parks, and Tornadoes
Now we go together like Bacon Lettuce Tomato
We were such a mess, but I must confess, I love that woman so
(And we were like) Trailer Parks, and Tornadoes
We went together like The Devil and a Halo, The Dollar and the Peso, A Stripper and a Tradeshow, Murder and a Jane Doe, Virgin and Volcano, The Church and Galileo
We were such a mess, But I must confess
I love that woman so..I love that woman so
I love my baby so
